Good article from Wired: Last Days of a Hacker
Just got the January 2009 issue of Wired magazine and the first thing I notice is an article about the rise and fall of Max Butler - a hacker that tried to take over the ‘carder’ community. Wired always does a good job writing these types of articles in a way that is engaging and it is a very interesting read. I just looked and it’s not on the website, but if you pick up the hard copy, it’s in there…
I think it’s interesting that there are still people out in the community that think security is a ‘lone hacker’ type of problem and it’s important for business (and the public) to understand that this is no longer a question of keeping a rogue computer geek from embarrassing you - this is about an organized community of crooks that are working together to target and compromise business that are dealing with credit card information.
Anyway, it’s a good article.
